Finally registration for Cities on Volcanoes 7 is now open. The webpage gives details of the four
symposia covering Volcanoes and their Hazards, Evaluating Volcanic Risk, Volcanic Risk
Reduction in Developing Countries and Volcanoes, Society and Government. Each has several
specific sessions covering many topical issues from the world of volcanology, with a strong
emphasis on hazards and their impact on society. In addition you will find details of various pre-
and post-conference excursions, workshops and other activities. You need to register prior to 15
July to receive a discounted fee. The closing date for the submission of abstracts is 31 July.
We do hope you will join us in the shadow of the majestic Volcán de Colima from 19 - 23
November 2012. Apart from traditional conference talks and posters, we are planning various
open debates, where members of the public and the authorities will join us to discuss the most
important issues confronting the mitigation of volcanic hazards. It promises to be a lively
conference!
