Graduate Student Opportunities in Geochemistry/Hydrogeology/Volcanology at Scripps Institution of Oceanography
Students wishing to pursue research leading to the Ph.D. degree are invited to apply. We are interested in individuals with strong backgrounds in chemistry, physics and/or geology who will undertake multi-disciplinary research into understanding chemical and physical characteristics of fluid flow in seismically and volcanically-active regions. The research will focus initially on California and Costa Rica. The successful candidate will be involved in expedition work, instrument development, laboratory measurements and interpretation/synthesis of results.
Annual salary is $25,500 (plus paid tuition expenses). Some TA-ing is required. A starting date spring/summer, 2012 is envisaged. Please contact David Hilton (drhilton@xxxxxxxx) for project details.
