Dear Colleagues,
we would like to draw your attention and encourage your contributions to the
following session at the 2011 Fall AGU Meeting.
Recall that abstract submission closes earlier this year, on August 4.
Session V46. What Can Pyroclasts Tell Us?
Efforts to decipher volcanic processes from pyroclastic deposits continue to
increase in number, utilising emerging technologies and multidisciplinary
approaches. The wealth of new data continues to add to our mechanistic
understanding of the generally unobservable phenomena of magma fragmentation
and pyroclast transport during explosive eruptions. This session is
addressing scientists from all disciplines analysing volcanic activity with
a deposit-based approach. We seek contributions from field and experimental
volcanology, monitoring and computational modelling. We want to explore the
cutting edge in analysing and interpreting pyroclasts, build dialogue
between scientists and synergize about how to understand explosive eruptions
based on the related deposits.
Please do not hesitate to contact the conveners (below) if you have any
questions.
