*************************************************************************************************************** Workshop VW01 VHub cyberinfrastructure for volcanology – modeling, data sharing, education, and collaboration From: Greg Valentine <gav4@xxxxxxxxxxx> *************************************************************************************************************** Announcement – Workshop VW01 VHub cyberinfrastructure for volcanology – modeling, data sharing, education, and collaboration 30 June 2011, Melbourne, Australia We are pleased to announce a one-day workshop on VHub, an online platform for collaboration in volcanology and volcanic risk mitigation (see vhub.org), in conjunction with the upcoming IUGG meeting in Melbourne, Australia. The workshop will feature an overview of VHub’s capabilities as well as hands-on training with examples of some of the many features and uses of vhub, including, but not limited to, the development of worldwide collaborative groups, educational resources for a diverse audience, modeling and simulation tools for both online (using VHub’s computing resources) and offline implementation, development tools, and sharing resources such as models or educational materials with the community. There is no fee but registration is required (go to www.iugg2011.com and look for Workshops under the Program & Abstracts tab). Limited funding is available to partially support the travel expenses for registrants from developing nations (see online registration form).
