Recognition ceremony for Dr. Eduardo Malavassi at Costa Rica Volcanological and Seismological Observatory at the National University

Dear colleagues,
For the Costa Rica Volcanological and Seismological Observatory,
at the National University (OVSICORI-UNA), it is a great pleasure to
invite you to a ceremony where we will name the Volcano
Geochemistry Laboratory at our Institute after Dr. Eduardo Malavassi
Rojas. Dr. Malavassi began conceptualizing this observatory in the
mid 70’s, and worked very hard to create the political infrastructure
within our University for funding OVSICORI-UNA. His more than 30
years of unconditional work towards what we are today, is a
contribution that our University could not let pass without a well
deserved recognition.
The ceremony will take place on November 26th, 2010, at 9:30 am
in front of the Volcano Geochemistry Laboratory at the back of
OVSICORI’s building in Heredia.
We understand most of you will not be able to attend this ceremony,
but if you want to send a couple of lines to congratulate Dr. Malavassi
or have an anecdote you want to share, I will be happy to read it
