********************************************************************************************************************* GAC Conference 2011 special session on textures (microstructures) From: Michael Higgins <Michael_Higgins@xxxxxxx> ********************************************************************************************************************* There will be a special session on Quantification of Textures at the upcoming Geological Association of Canada meeting in Ottawa on May 25-27, 2011(http://www.gacmacottawa2011.ca). We are looking for contributions from all fields of this subject: Quantification of crystal size, shape, orientation, dihedral angle and position from 2D and 3D studies. Theoretical and applied studies from all fields of petrology (igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary) are welcome. Abstract submissions start Nov. 1 and close Jan. 15 2011. The conference is based in Ottawa on the edge of the Canadian Shield. There are a number of field trips associated with the meeting. You can fly directly to Ottawa, but it is sometimes easier and cheaper to fly to Montreal and take the 200 km bus ride.
