Postdoctoral Researcher – UNAM, Mexico, Centro de Geociencias.

This 2-years postdoctoral position (beginning in February, 2010) will focus on the integration of complex geospatial, observational, and experimental data for active Mexican volcanoes, including integration of complex datasets (e.g.,
volcano topography, time-varying meteorological data, volcanic deposit distributions and characteristics) and development of hazard assessment tools for eruptive phenomena.

Scientists with strong skills in computational modeling of volcanic processes and  database management are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a PhD in Geology, Geophysics, Applied Mathematics or Engineering, and the ability to work with large, complex datasets. Good understanding of Linux, mysql and php and previous knowledge of ArcGIS and/or MapServer is required.
