The post is a three year fixed term, full-time position with the UWI Seismic Research Centre with the option of extension. Suitable candidates should preferably have a PhD in a volcanological-related subject and a minimum of 10 years experience as a practicing earth scientist in geoscience projects, or an equivalent professional background, at least five years of which should be at the project management level. Experience of working at a volcano observatory and in particular experience of the Montserrat SHV eruption would be advantageous. The principal responsibility of the successful candidate is for the efficient and effective running of the MVO and for reporting on the status of the volcanic activity at the Soufriere Hills Volcano in a regular and timely manner to the appropriate authorities.
