A recent job listing on this listserver (and in the Nov 25 issue of Eos) was
missing some important information:

Tenure Track Faculty in Volcanology
Assistant, Associate, Professor

Research:
The successful candidate is expected to apply modern analytical techniques to
laboratory and field samples to study petrological/volcanological problems. The
research emphasis lies on modelling igneous and volcanic systems to understand
the genesis and evolution of magmas and residual fluids, and their movement
through the crust including eruption.

Partial logistical support is available from the Alaska Volcano Observatory and
the Geophysical Institute. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to
interact with AVO staff both routinely and during eruption crises.

We seek a scientist who will interact with colleagues in the Department of
Geology and Geophysics and at the Geophysical Institute. Active research topics
include crustal deformation, volcanology, seismology, remote sensing, tectonics
and structural geology, economic geology, and snow and ice studies
(approximately 30 faculty members). The position offered is intended to
strengthen expertise existing in both the Department of Geology and Geophysics
and the Geophysical Institute. Monitoring of and research on volcanoes are
carried out as a collaborative effort by staff of the Geophysical Institute, the
U.S. Geological Survey, and the State of Alaska.

Teaching:
We seek someone who is able to teach graduate level classes in volcanology and
advanced igneous petrology, as well as take an active participation in
undergraduate classes such as mineralogy/petrology or geochemistry
