The Planetary Science Group at Lancaster University, UK, is able to
offer one STFC-funded, 3-year, full-time research studentship
available from October 2008. The research topics anticipated are
described at http://lec.lancs.ac.uk/postgraduate/phd/. They fall into
the general areas (1) Mechanisms of volcano-ice-water interactions on
Mars, (2) Fluid mechanics of planetary volcanic processes, and (3)
Physical evolution of differentiated asteroids. The closing date for
applications is March 31, and we anticipate interviewing candidates
during April.
