Exceptionally clear weather immediately after the first autumn snowstorms had covered the peaks with some frost. http://stromboli.net/perm/alaska/index-en.html is a good starting point to find aerial photos of Shishaldin, Isanotski, Fourpeaked, Douglas, Iliamna and Augustine volcanoes.
