The Department of Geology and Geophysics, School of Ocean and Earth
Sciences and Technology (SOEST), invites applications for a tenure-track
faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in marine geophysics
and geology (MGG). We seek a creative individual with outstanding
research and teaching abilities, particularly those whose interests will
enhance the synergy among existing areas of excellence in SOEST such as
Earth surface processes, tectonics and structure, and investigations of
the Earth’s interior.
The successful candidate will have an established record of publication
in peer-reviewed scientific journals, recognized outstanding potential
in research funding, skill in teaching geophysics and geology, and
eagerness to advise graduate students. We especially encourage
applicants with interest in building an active, field- or
observation-based research program in MGG. Minimum requirements for this
position include a Ph.D. in the geosciences with emphasis in marine
geophysics and/or geology.
