Dear all volcanophiles, a small team of VolcanoDiscovery just returned from a visit to Stromboli island where we observed the volcano's varying effusive activity between 3-12 March from land and sea. Photos include views of the lava flows on the Sciara del Fuoco, lava entering the sea, small phreatic explosions, rockfalls on the Sciara, sequences of the opening of a new eruptive fissure and even pyroclastic flows.
