A Professorship in Earth Sciences will also be advertised separately in the near future. The Department encompasses geophysics, tectonics, geochemistry, petrology, mineral sciences, palaeobiology, sedimentology, environment and climate change. We invite applications from those whose research bears on any aspect of these areas of the Earth Sciences interpreted in the broadest terms, in areas of interface between them, and in new areas of the subject. The Department has a strong tradition of broad based interactive teaching and research across these and other disciplines, including fieldwork teaching in which the applicant will be expected to take part.
