Dear Sameer, What do you mean by registering the port 0-7,9 as zpt interfaces? Do the ZL50409 provide you with a linux driver? I am new to this chip, but have worked with broadcom chips. AFAIK, these switch chips route only management frames to the host processor through the management port. That means, only frames like Spanning tree frames etc. And generally you don't need to have a VLAN package in the host, because, you won't get tagged frames there. We get request timed out. Are we supposed to apply any patch? we initially tried applying patch "candela_2.4.21.patch" and rebuilding the kernel. This gave rise to a huge traffic to the switch disallowing any ping from some other machine. Would like to know the reason for this phenomenon too. Can u suggest some links to understand the VLAN concept from scratch and then building and setting up VLAN on Linux? We would appreciate your help in this regard.
