In my case, I believe the problem was solved by these operations (or a subset of them): - Upgraded to kernel 2.6.10 as distributed in Fedora Core 3. 2.6.11 works well too. - Upgraded to latest em8300 CVS HEAD. - Moved the DXR3 into a PCI slot where it does not share an IRQ with any other device.
