Oh, and FYI ... the reason I happened across this glitch (which I
now see in two other recent bugreports!) was that I was trying to
cope with some of the RTC_UIE bogosity that HPET causes.  See

for, among other things, a patch changing rtc-cmos to have ACPI
dispatch all its IRQs ... bypassing the HPET emulation (yay!).

I rather suspect that will also confuse some hardware, and I've
not yet tested it with "rtcwake" from S3, S4, or suchlike.
Maybe some folk here will want to test it...
