Prescribed burns scheduled for next week
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz., Oct. 26, 2018, For Immediate Release —
Fire managers will be conducting prescribed burns and slash pile burns near Flagstaff and southwest of Clints Well throughout next week as weather conditions dry out. Flagstaff Area On Monday, fire managers are planning to conduct a 3-acre prescribed burn near Badersville. Smoke will
be evident to the surrounding community and travelers along U.S. Highway 180 in the Badersville area and is expected to disperse toward the northeast. Smoke may settle in low lying areas during the evening hours. The prescribed burn is being conducted in cooperation
with the Fort Valley Experimental Forest north of Flagstaff. If conditions allow, fire managers are also planning to conduct up to 500 acres of prescribed burns in the area northeast of Badersville next week sometime. Clints Well Area Fire managers near Clints Well plan to burn slash piles on Monday located about 5 miles southwest of
Clints Well off state Route 87. The pile burns and smoke will be visible to motorists on Route 260 in the area, and smoke may settle during evening hours and impact low lying areas near the burn sites.
