The Salmon Forest meet and greet, film screening
KETCHIKAN, Alaska, Sept. 15, 2017
– The public is invited to enjoy freshly prepared salmon, hear live music from a local artist, screen the feature documentary
The Salmon Forest, and meet some of the people in it, on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center. This free event begins at 5 p.m. with music performed by Ray Troll and the Ratfish Wranglers, as well as refreshments
that include salmon dishes prepared by the Alaska Native Brotherhood and Sisterhood, Camp 14. The film screening begins at 6 p.m. inside the Elizabeth Peratrovich Theater. The film helps share the forest’s unique role in managing the lands for a healthy ocean and provides insight into
what makes the Tongass a unique home for salmon. Before and after the film, Forest Service biologists and residents featured in the film will be available to meet and answer questions.
The Southeast Alaska Discovery Center is located at 50 Main Street in Ketchikan.
