Friday Night Insight features Dr.
Joanie Mayer Hope KETCHIKAN, Alaska, Feb 22, 2017 –Dr.
Joanie Mayer Hope, president of Let Every Woman Know-Alaska, breaks down walls of silence around gynecologic cancer to educate everyone about signs, symptoms and treatments of this disease.
The presentation takes place Feb. 24
at 6 p.m. in the Elizabeth Peratrovich Theater, inside the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center. The Southeast Alaska Discovery Center and exhibit halls are open Fridays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. this winter. Admission
is free. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the exhibits, purchase maps and America the Beautiful passes, and learn about the forest from an interpretive ranger. A variety of films exploring the natural and cultural history of Alaska will be played in the theater
upon request until 5 p.m. The Southeast Alaska Discovery Center is located at 50 Main Street in Ketchikan.
