Sedona, Ariz., Feb. 21, 2017, For Immediate Release —
Forest Road 633 will be closed on Feb. 24-25, and March 3-4, for road repair and drainage improvements, which will affect access to a number of hiking trails from the Jim Thompson Trailhead location. Jim Thompson Trailhead will be temporarily closed during the road repairs, and people will not be able
to access certain trails via that trailhead, which includes Jim Thompson Trail, Jordan Trail, Cibola Trail and Brins Mesa Trail.
The Red Rock Ranger District road crew will be conducting work involving heavy equipment, delivery of materials to the site and installation of drainage culverts. The road and trailhead
will be closed for public safety and materials storage during the project.
Area trails will remain open where users can access them from the Soldier’s Pass, Sugarloaf, or Adobe Jack trailheads. This weekend work is necessary for the timing of equipment
and its operator availability.
