Cathedral Rock trailhead closed temporarily for new pathway
Sedona, Ariz., July 20, 2016, For Immediate Release —
The Cathedral Rock trailhead and parking area will be closing tomorrow for several days for public safety as construction begins on a new city pathway that will connect
to the existing Forest Service parking area and new restroom.
Heavy construction equipment will be in the area, and work will continue until late afternoon Saturday.
The trailhead is anticipated to be open to the public Saturday evening.
Cathedral trail itself will remain open during the construction period, and users can access it from either Little Horse, Baldwin or Yavapai Vista trailheads. However, users should
be advised that those routes will add additional miles to the hike and should plan accordingly.
