to take part in a fun, family-friendly event celebrating the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree program of the U.S. Forest Service.
WHAT:
A free holiday-themed event featuring special appearances by Smokey Bear, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and live reindeer, ornament decorating to adorn the U.S. Capitol Christmas tree, games
& educational activities for all ages, and music by Swing 49. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Decorate an ornament for a chance to win a train and boat tour including the Surprise Glacier Cruise in Whittier,
Blackstone Bay Cruise in Whittier, and Kenai Fjords tour in Seward compliments of Major Marine Tours and Alaska Railroad. WHERE:

WHY: The Chugach National Forest is honored to provide the 2015 U.S. Capitol Tree that stands on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol during the annual holiday
season. This will be the first time the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will make its way from Alaska and the Chugach National Forest. A Very Merry Chugach Christmas in July marks the midway point in a yearlong series of programming, events and activities
