Red Rock Visitor Center offers live snake exhibit
Sedona, Ariz. – The Red Rock District of the Coconino National Forest is hosting two upcoming public events at the Red Rock Visitor Center: a live snake display August 31 and September 1 and a First Friday Program on September 6.
The district and The Arizona Natural History Association invite local residents and visitors to learn more about native snakes during the Labor Day weekend. The display will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and Arizona Game and Fish volunteers will be on hand to educate the public about the important role snakes play in our environment.
The district and the association also invite the public to join them for their “First Friday” program at 11 a.m. on September 6. This month, Ranger Annemarie Romero will discuss recreational access for The Verde River. She will use a picture presentation to show different access points so users can better plan their next river trip.
The Red Rock Visitor Center is located in Sedona on highway 179, one mile south of the Village of Oak Creek.
For more information please call the Red Rock Ranger District at (928) 203-2900.
