Several Small Fires Start Northeast of Williams
WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Firefighters are working to contain several small fires two miles northeast of Williams on the east side of State Highway 64. Kaibab National Forest, City of Williams Fire Department, and Department of Public Safety personnel are responding to the fires. Several engines are on scene. The fires are burning slowly through the grass and ponderosa pine. They are estimated at less than one acre in size. Please use caution traveling along State Highway 64 this afternoon as crews work to suppress the fires. The cause is under investigation.
