Officials Cancel Prescribed Fire Planned for
Williams Ranger District WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Kaibab National Forest fire specialists have canceled the City Southeast Prescribed Fire on the Williams Ranger District that was planned for Tues., Oct. 4. Officials say that predicted
strong and gusty winds are not favorable for the project to begin.
Many factors need to be met before prescribed fires are implemented including personnel availability, appropriate environmental conditions and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality approval.
Williams Ranger District managers will re-consider conducting this and other prescribed fires after the current weather system exits the area.
