Kaibab National Forest To Waive Camping Fees at Ten-X Campground

TUSAYAN, Ariz. – The Kaibab National Forest will waive camping fees at Ten-X Campground on the Tusayan Ranger District for the night of Sept. 24 in honor of National Public Lands Day.

The sites to be included in the fee waiver are the first-come, first-served single-family sites at Ten-X Campground.  The fee waiver does not apply to the group sites or the reservable single-family sites.  All campers should check in with the campground hosts upon arrival.

“The Kaibab National Forest is joining other agencies such as Grand Canyon National Park in celebrating National Public Lands Day,” said Tusayan District Ranger Nick Larson.  “We hope the fee waiver will encourage members of the public to get outdoors and enjoy their public lands.”

Ten-X Campground is located about 2 miles south of Tusayan and 47 miles north of Williams on state Highway 64.  The campground is about 4 miles from the south entrance to Grand Canyon National Park.  For additional information on Ten-X Campground, visit www.fs.usda.gov/goto/kaibab/ten-x.

National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer event for public lands.  National Public Lands Day educates Americans about critical environmental and natural resource issues and the need for shared stewardship of these valued, irreplaceable lands.  For additional information, visit www.publiclandsday.org.

For additional information about Tusayan Ranger District, please contact the district office at (928) 638-2443.
