National Weather Service Issues Red Flag Warning

WILLIAMS, Ariz. – The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for portions of northern Arizona today with another Red Flag Warning likely for tomorrow.  This warning covers portions of the Williams and Tusayan ranger districts of the Kaibab National Forest.

Forest visitors are advised to refrain from having a campfire when Red Flag Warning conditions exist.  Red Flag Warnings are generated when strong winds and low relative humidities are forecast causing an increased potential for large fire growth.  The advisory covers all campfires within areas under the Red Flag Warning.  The advisory will stay in effect until the Red Flag Warning ends.

For Kaibab National Forest alerts and warnings, please visit the forest website at www.fs.usda.gov/kaibab.  For detailed weather information including Red Flag Warnings issued by the National Weather Service, please visit www.wrh.noaa.gov/fgz/.
