Prescribed Fire Update
WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Kaibab National Forest fire managers plan to continue prescribed burning on the Williams Ranger District depending on conditions this week. The ignition of all of our burns is subject to appropriate weather conditions, the availability of personnel and equipment, and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality approval.
The following projects are planned but may be delayed depending on forecasted precipitation for the area. The burns are in the following locations: Frenchy – 223 acres, 8 miles east of Williams near Sherwood Forest Estates (Thursday, Sept. 23)
City
– 141 acres, on the south side of Williams at the end of Sheridan Street
(Monday, Sept. 27)
There will be a Fire Information
Station on Route 66, east of the cemetery in Williams Monday, Sept. 27.

Fire crews accomplished the 300-acre City Northeast Freeway prescribed fire east of Williams Monday, Sept. 20. Smoke remained in Williams overnight and lifted early Tuesday morning.
