Williams and Tusayan Ranger Districts in High Fire Danger

WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Forest officials announce that due to prolonged hot, dry weather conditions, the Williams and Tusayan Ranger Districts have moved into “HIGH” Fire Danger. The lack of precipitation and persistent wind has caused the forest to become very receptive to fire. Dry, windy conditions are forecasted to continue through the next week.
Campfires are the number one human cause of wildfires.  Never leave your campfire unattended and fully extinguish your campfire before leaving the area.
Before traveling to your destination on the forest, call the nearest ranger station for current conditions and information.  When recreating on public lands, please enjoy your stay and be extremely careful with fire.
For more information, please call Punky Moore, Fire Information Officer, 928-635-5653.
