Tentative prescribed fire plans for the week of December 7

Flagstaff, AZ – For the week of December 7, prescribed fire specialists are planning to conduct various pile burns across the Coconino National Forest; conditions may be ideal with winter precipitation in the forecast. Smoke impacts from pile burns are generally minimal.  

Monday, December 7
Eastside Project – Piles are located off Townsend-Winona Road in the vicinity of Slayton Ranch Road and Hutton Ranch Road. Light smoke may be noticeable in Doney Park.
Miscellaneous Piles (Mormon Lake District) – located northeast of Mountainaire, northwest of Lake Mary Meadows, off Forest Road 3E.
Miscellaneous Piles (Mogollon Rim District) – located off Forest Road 95 and Forest Road 300 (Rim Road). Smoke will only be noticeable in the immediate area.

All prescribed fire activity is dependent on personnel availability, weather – including ventilation conditions, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (www.azdeq.gov).
