Coconino National Forest Planned Prescribed Fire Activity Planned for June 24

Fire managers have determined that conditions have been ideal for fire to benefit the forest landscape.  Pending continued favorable conditions, crews plan to conduct a prescribed burn Wednesday.
Remember that all prescribed fire activity is dependant on weather, crew availability, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (www.azdeq.gov).

Fort Valley Project:  300 acres of broadcast burning located northeast of Hwy 180, E of Snowbowl Road, and south of Freidlein Prairie Rd. Forecast winds should move smoke to the northeast, however smoke will likely be noticeable at in the Hwy180 and Baderville areas overnight.  
Ignition is planned to begin around 7am and should be complete by late morning.
