Coconino National Forest Planned Prescribed Fire Activity for Thursday, April 30.  

Remember that all prescribed fire activity is dependant on weather, crew availability, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (www.azdeq.gov).

Thursday, April 30:
ROCKY PROJECT: Approximately 180 acres of broadcast burning, 3.5 miles east of I-17 at the Schnebly Hill Road exit, south of Forest Road 226.  Smoke will disperse northeast with the forecast winds.  Legal location: T17, R8, S6  

FORT VALLEY PROJECT: Approximately 160 acres of broadcast burning off Snowbowl Road at Freidlein Prairie (Forest Road 522). Smoke will move northeast with the forecast winds.  Some residual smoke may settle around Baderville in the evening and early morning.  
Legal location: T22, R7, S18 and T22, R6, S13

Pending favorable winds and weather conditions, the following projects are being considered for Friday, May 1:
MARS HILL PROJECT: behind Lowell Observatory
A-1 PROJECT: On the west side of A-1 Mountain
LAKE MARY PROJECT: southeast of Lake Mary Meadows
