Planned Prescribed Fires for today and Tuesday, April 27-28:
All prescribed fire activity is dependant on weather, crew availability, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (www.azdeq.gov).

Today, crews plan to conduct a broadcast burn on the A1-Project – Approximately 300 acres located on top of Observatory Mesa, northwest of Flagstaff.  Smoke should move north east with today’s winds, some residual smoke may briefly linger around the north and western edges of Flagstaff during the evening and early morning hours, but should be light.

Pending favorable conditions, fire managers are planning on the following projects for tomorrow:
Fort Valley Project off Snow Bowl Road and Freidlein Prairie Road.
Lake Mary Project west of Upper Lake Mary

The Forest's prescribed fire activity is also available on the Prescribed Fire Hotline at 928-226-4607.  Additional information can be found on the website, http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/conditions/current-rx.shtml, or by calling your local ranger station.
