Planned Prescribed Fire Activity for Wednesday, April 08, 2009:

Crews on the Coconino National Forest plan to conduct a prescribed burn on the IMAX Project today.

This is a maintenance broadcast burn, approximately 1000 acres, located approximately 5 miles west of Forest Highway 3, northwest of Clints Well.  Smoke is typically lighter on a maintenance burn, and while some residual smoke may settle toward the Verde Valley, it should dissipate quickly.

As usual, all prescribed fire activity is dependant on weather, crew availability, and approval from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.

Prescribed fire activity is also available on the Hotline, 928-226-4607.
