	I would guess, then, that Logitech has helpfully installed an incompatible 'improvement'
to your headphones' built-in firmware.  I know that their mice, whose basic (3 buttons,
scroll wheel) features work fine in Linux, have additional features that Linux isn't able
to take advantage of because Logitech doesn't release details of those features' APIs.
