I installed two more, oxygen and crystal, and with the correction of PEBKAC ( which was all that was wrong with the dmz cursors :-( ), and Nik's advice I am, I think, home and dry for now. It is a pity about comixcursors in Jessie. They are what I used to use. I have still not got around to that Stretch installation I was going to do. Other people's projects get priority. :-( I must hurry up and do so and see if the large comixcursors cursors work again. Thank you very much for your help. Much appreciated as always.
