Weird. I'm guessing that clicking the folder icons leads to more icon
views. What is the embedding preference for the folder icons, e.g. the
bea icon in sc2? Right click icon > properties > wench/spanner >
embedding preference order (the home embedding.jpg I posted earlier,
bottom right).

Have you tried changing your home icon view (sc2) to List view (View >
View Mode) and saved your profile (Settings > Save View Profile...)?

...I found two of the related configs. My
.trinity/share/config/konquerorrc has:
[ModeToolBarServices]
external=konq_detailedlistview
All my .trinity/share/apps/konqueror/profiles have:
ViewT0_ServiceName=konq_detailedlistview
