Are these instructions specific to the 3.12 kernel (as the patch name
implies) with the 2.1-0 driver? Or can the same instructions be used when
using, say, target-pending/for-next? In that case, would the 2.1 driver
still be used?
The patch simply allows kernel Makefile to accept PRE_CFLACS (OFED
includes in our case).
It probably won't apply cleanly on target-pending/for-next Makefile
But can be applied manually.
Yes, ib_isert will compile against the installed OFED version.
I think the right fix is to simply not OFED and boycott the supporting
companies with their associal forking behavior. I'm sick an tired about
the crap quality of it and all the problems that it causes.

Well, I feel the same way (although less harsh about it), I would prefer to have it all inbox. As I see it, OFED is useful for costumers who want to upgrade RDMA functionality (or get Tech previews)
without upgrading their distro or wait for it to land upstream.

Non the less you make a good point, Tony, is there any specific reason why you are using OFED installation on upstream? Is there any needed functionality that doesn't exist upstream yet (we put a fair amount of efforts to avoid those)?
If this is the case we can move it a head in the queue.

Sagi.
