yes, it took some iterations to get there ;-)

I've had those threee commits in my 3.10 branch for some time. It solves
the issue, I can use an FIQ handler with a sound card driver.

I've been testing this, the commits resolve the crashes I saw before.
I'd appreciate if you could queue them for the next version.
