SM v1.4.22 - search with german umlauts fails

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,
I'm running SM v1.4.22 on one of my servers. Every time I try to search
for word which contains german umlauts the following error is shown:

 ERROR: Wrong or invalid request.
Request: FETCH (FLAGS UID RFC822.SIZE INTERNALDATE
BODY.PEEK[HEADER.FIELDS (Date To Cc From Subject X-Priority Importance
Priority Content-Type)])
Server answer: Bogus sequence in UID FETCH: Syntax error in sequence

While trying to find a resolution for the problem I've found several
references in the SM message archive which state that the error should
have been fixed in SM v1.4.20RC1.

Then I've added a debug output to imap_search.php which shows that the
following command is send to the server:

SEARCH CHARSET ISO-8859-1 ALL BODY "für"

What else can I do to help solving the problem?

Just for the records: The search function of a SM v1.5.2dev server
                      works without as desired.

Regards
Juergen
