It looks strange when you complain about system getting name from somewhere,
when standard SquirrelMail does not do that. Some setups (Debian and Ubuntu)
set default domain based on /etc/mailname. It is not the way standard
SquirrelMail works and you can set correct domain name in SquirrelMail
configuration utility. Check SquirrelMail configuration. See "2. Server
settings" options. Replace "trim(implode('',
file('/etc/'.(file_exists('/etc/mailname')?'mail':'host').'name')))" stuff
with correct domain.

SquirrelMail can also store address with falcon name in user preferences.
Make sure that user preferences don't have falcon name. See SquirrelMail
data directory (defined in 4th section of configuration menu) or database
(defined in 9th section of configuration menu).

Check SquirrelMail configuration and user preferences. Please note that
remote Thunderbird clients don't use mail services on localhost and you
might have different services with different settings and restrictions
running on external and local interfaces.
