SquirrelMail has very short memory. It forgets messages that don't exists in
next session. If SquirrelMail still shows those emails after users logs out
and relogin, then your IMAP server thinks that these messages exists.
Probably corrupted mailbox cache or mailbox file. Depends on used IMAP
server. Delete mailbox UID cache or rebuild mailbox.
