SquirrelMail itself will not just return without an error or showing
the messages removed unless the IMAP server is not working correctly.
However, your version is very out of date, so the first thing you need
to do is update to the newest SM version.  Then, consult your web
server and mail server log files (watch them as you click delete) for
any error messages if the problem persists.
