Here: 1.4.9a, 1.4.11, 1.4.13, 1.5.1

Here: PHP 5.0.5 to 5.2.5

By the way: Apache 1.3.37, mod_ssl/2.8.27 (maybe it's somehow involved
in the process)

Ok.

Here: 8.13.7, 8.14.2

Quite simple, only added "config_local.php".

<?php

 * Don't do it unless you know what you're doing.

$domain		= shell_exec( "domainname" );
$org_name	= file_get_contents("/etc/organization");

$default_folder_prefix	= 'mail/';
$trash_folder	= 'Papierkorb';
$sent_folder	= 'Gesendet';
$draft_folder	= 'Entwuerfe';

?>

No milters etc - quite simple installation.
But they shouldn't influence the "To: " field ...

> Type of userbase- passwd? ldap? Cyrus? or whatever?

Quite simple - "/etc/passwd" and "/etc/shadow". But that shouldn't
influence the "To: " field.

But I shouldn't tell my Samba configuration, p.e. - I can find nearly
every file you want, but I may not believe that I should post every file
from (p.e.) "/etc/*" into this mailing list.

> but under my 3 variants, it all works and I cant reproduce your error

I like this kind of error ... and I know it, too.

Viele Gruesse!
