thank you very much, Tomas and Paul, for your kind answers...

* About server side sorting, my imap server supports it, but should it
be indicated in SquirrelMail configuration? where?

* my SM is in a production environment, ¿is SVN 1.4.12 enough stable as
to install it?, ¿if so, why is 1.4.11 the recommended stable?

* About php caches... I didn't use previously any one in this machine...
I'll try to install one... but, I thought Zend were installed by default
(Zend Extension & Zend Memory Manager appear in test.php), maybe it is
for a different purpose?

thanks for your time.

Make sure that server side sorting is enabled in SquirrelMail configuration.

Install APC, Zend Optimizer or some other PHP cache. Cache can reduce
memory footprint of PHP scripts.

Some SquirrelMail plugins are not optimized and increase memory usage when
messages are viewed.

You can profile your setup and see memory usage with PHP
memory_get_usage() and memory_get_peak_usage() functions. It can be done
with plugin.

Those patches are in SVN for 1.4.12. Please download a snapshot of 1.4.12.
