I got passed that problem by adding some NAM locales to the system, including UTF, so it must've been the web server producing these, although it was definitely initiated by the plugin. I checked the logs and found no prior history of this. However, things aren't 100% working yet. I got it to report beautifully via spamc with 1.5.1 release I've been testing, but with 1.4.11 I only get an empty page upon login. compatibility plugin is the same latest version in both releases - 2.0.9 and spam button plugin configuration is identical too.
