Turn off UID support in SquirrelMail configuration. It is in SquirrelMail
1.4.x 4. General Options menu section.

If you upgrade MacOS X, you will get better IMAP server. I don't know, if
upgrade will preserve user information in your EIMS or Apple Mail Server
installation.
