Your kidding, right? That was sudo apt-get squid3 just a little while ago. So
it is ubuntu's most recent version in their repos.

Ubuntu supported releases and their squid-3 versions + release date:

hardy: 3.0.STABLE1-1ubuntu1 (Dec 13, 2007)
intrepid: 3.0.STABLE7-1ubuntu1 (Jun 22, 2008)
jaunty: 3.0.STABLE8-3+lenny2build0.9.04.1 (Jul 18, 2008)
karmic: 3.0.STABLE18-1 (Aug 04, 2009)
lucid: 3.0.STABLE19-1 (Sep 06, 2009)

And seems they have NOT reacted to any of the security advisories in the
last months... how nice of them.

Probably my fault on the lack in Lucid. Luigi and I are concentrating on getting 3.1 into Squeeze so there are no fixed 3.0 .deb's for Ubuntu to pull in.
Not sure whats going on with the Karmic and older security bits though.
