I've never had a need to run a reverse proxy, but I have a simple
question:

>From the squid server itself, are you able to get a connection when
you do:

telnet 10.1.x.xx 80?

If that doesn't work, I have a feeling whatever you're trying to achieve
will NOT materialize.

PS: The information you've provided is way too insufficient! Try showing
an ascii drawing of your setup.
Also:
(a) Say what version of Squid you are running
(b) show the whole squid.conf if possible. (egrep -v "#|^$" squid.conf)
